We had a guy who called us and said his network connection wasn't working. I asked if he'd changed anything, he said no. I asked if he'd added any new software, he said no. We looked at his log and he'd been successfully logging in for months. I asked him when it stopped working; he said yesterday. I asked him what he did with his computer yesterday.

"Well," he said, "I wrote a few letters, I did some checkbook stuff, I put in Norton Desktop..."

"Wait a minute," I said. "You told me you didn't put in any software."

"That's not software," he said. "That's Norton Desktop."

I told him to turn off Norton Desktop.

"I don't know how," he said.

"Well, you need to call Norton and ask them how to turn it off," I said.

"No, no, no!" he shouted. "It's your problem. I can't connect to you. There's no problem with my software! It's you!"
