Here's a neat tip from a friend of mine. I have a PowerBook 540c that I travel everywhere with. Some of the environments I use it in kick up a lot of dust and particulate matter, which sticks to the screen. I don't carry Fantastik and lens cloth with me, but I still want to keep my screen clean. I don't know about you, but a dirty LCD screen is enough to drive me nuts (costly therapy is helping me to deal with this).

Anyway, if you take the adhesive edge of a Post-It Note, and drag it very lightly across the surface of the screen, it hoovers all the crud off! Unless you've been spitting on, or otherwise mucking up the screen with fluids that dry to it in a glue-like encrustment, this is a great way to keep said screen clean without needing to drag around nasty chemicals or wearing through the thin protective layer on most LCD screens. And, with their convenient dimensions, a pack of Post-It's makes an easy fit into most laptop carrying case floppy disk pockets.

Better living through adhesive technology! Three cheers for 3M! Hip-hip hooray, hip-hip...oh forget it. How long do you think it'll be before the folks in Cynthiana, KY figure it out and begin to market Post-It Screen Cleaners at four times the price of the regular ones?
